The Good Health Times
In 2009 the building was developed into Waterford Health Park conserving the building's existing features while additional space was created through the addition of new wings using the latest in sustainable technologies to create a healthy and eco-friendly building taking advantage of solar energy and reusing captured rainwater.
The original building (former Presentation Convent) is a protected structure of National importance that has been part of Waterford's fabric since the mid-19th Century having been designed by AWN Pugin, the Gothic architect largely credited for designing Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament at Westminster.
Waterford Health Park provides up to 100 free car parking spaces for patients and visitors.
We have a number of designated wheelchair/disabled, parent and child and expectant mum car parking spaces. The on site cafe and Pharmacy shop are also open to the public. We are fully accessible and wheelchair friendly. We also provide wheelchairs if required.
Waterford Health Park is part of an international research collaboration called the CARITAS Project. The building is a leading example of 'Generative Space' in the Health Care Setting. The CARITAS Project seeks to transform the future of health and healthcare delivery through the development of strategies and technologies that produce sustainable environments.

The Irish Planning Institute National Planning Awards 2010, Waterford Health Park was awarded Category (B) Planning Achievement in Conservation Award for the Refurbishment and Extension of Former Presentation Convent as a Primary Health Care Centre. We are delighted with the honour of this award.
Waterford Health Park is featured as a leading example on Conservation Best Practice in The Irish 'Government Policy on Architecture 2009 to 2015 Towards a Sustainable Future : Delivering Quality within the Built Environment'
